The Path to Narrative: A Creative Journey
My journey into the world of literary fiction began with a simple curiosity about a book my best friend gave me to read when I was 14 years old. It was The Hobbit by J.R.R. Tolkien. It changed my life because I have not put a book down since. For the last 50 years I have been reading all that I could get my hands on. Although most of what I read was Science Fiction and Fantasy, I did learn that I need to read classics and other material so that I can see how many different people write. I read John Grisham and enjoy his work because he grabs the reader quickly taking them on a suspenseful journey. I read newer Science Fiction from John Scalzi because he makes me laugh. I of course read Tolkien, David Eddings, Terry Brooks, Ursula K. Le Guin, and classic Sci-Fi from Heinlen, and Asimov. I often read their works multiple times as I believe they are the best and it brings me joy to reread their best.
